FAQ: What is the difference between an active and a passive Java transformation?
Answer

A passive Java transformation writes one output row for every input row.
Active Java Transformation is used when you want to generate more than one output row for each input row in the transformation.

In an active Java transformation you can use the generaterRow() API in the code to generate output rows.
The following transformations properties are applicable only when the Java transformation is set as Active Transformation:

  • Update Strategy Transformation
  • Generate Transaction
