FAQ: Where is the location of the JAR files for external packages specified in a Java Transformation?
Answer

The location of the JAR files must be specified in the CLASSPATH on the server where the Informatica services are installed. You will have to provide the absolute location of the JAR files in the CLASSPATH.

Example

CLASSPATH=/opt/oracle/jdbc/lib/classes12.jar:/opt/oracle/jdbc/lib/ojdbc14.jar

Alternatively, any custom JAR files required can be placed in the PowerCenter/javalib directory.
Any JAR file in the javalib directory will be loaded in the classpath when the JVM for a Java Transformation is started.
The javalib directory can be found in the following path:

<INFA_HOME>/server/bin/javalib

JAR files placed in this directory do not have to be referenced in the CLASSPATH environment variable

More Information

To test if a certain class is present in the CLASSPATH, then run the javap command on the command prompt:

Example

$ javap oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver

Compiled from "OracleDriver.java"
public class oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver extends oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver{
public oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver(); }
