FAQ: What is the difference between "static query mode" and "dynamic query mode" in a PowerCenter SQL transformation?
Answer

"Static query mode" refers to a SQL Transformation which uses a Static Connection in Query mode.
This is not related to the SQL query specified in the SQL transformation. The SQL query can be same or different for incoming rows. The SQL query can change if there is a variable in the query, for example, if schema name is given as a parameter.

"Dynamic query mode" refers to a SQL Transformation which uses dynamic connection and query mode.
This term is not related to the SQL query specified in the SQL transformation.
