FAQ: What is the command to reset the DB connection information for MRS or AS service?
Answer

The command to reset the DB options for the Model Repository Service (MRS) or AS service is as follows:

infacmd <service> UpdateServiceProcessOptions or infacmd <service> UpdateServiceOptions

The infacmd.sh MRS, infacmd AS, and infacmd DIS commands will list all the available options under that service.

Example

The following example shows how DB userid is reset for the MRS service.

  1. Use the listserviceoptions or listserviceprocessoptions to list the options available for the MRS or AS service.

    $ ./infacmd.sh MRS listserviceoptions -dn Domain_ironwood -un Administrator -pd  Administrator -sn MRS_1168985030 CACHE.EnableCache=true CACHE.CacheJVMOptions=-Xmx128m SEARCH.SearchAnalyzer=com.informatica.repository.service.provider.search.analysis.MMStandardAnalyzer
    SEARCH.SearchAnalyzerFactory=
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Username=c1168985030a
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Password=********
    PERSISTENCE_DB.DatabaseSchema=
    PERSISTENCE_DB.DatabaseTablespace=
    PERSISTENCE_DB.DatabaseType=ORACLE
    PERSISTENCE_DB.JDBCConnectString=jdbc:informatica:oracle://tsora10g2:1521;ServiceName=orcl
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Dialect=com.informatica.repository.persistence.database.OracleCustomDialect
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Driver=com.informatica.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver
    Command ran successfully.
  2. Now provide those options as part of the command '-o' option and run the UpdateServiceOptions or UpdateServiceprocessOptions command.

    $ ./infacmd.sh MRS UpdateServiceOptions -dn Domain_ironwood -un Administrator - pd Administrator -sn MRS_1168985030 -o PERSISTENCE_DB.Username=abc123

    Command ran successfully.

  3. Once it is reset, verify if the DB username is updated or not by listing the options again.

    $ ./infacmd.sh MRS listserviceoptions -dn Domain_ironwood_ing -un Administrator -pd  Administrator -sn MRS_1168985030 CACHE.EnableCache=true CACHE.CacheJVMOptions=-Xmx128m SEARCH.SearchAnalyzer=com.informatica.repository.service.provider.search.analysis.MMStandardAnalyzer
    SEARCH.SearchAnalyzerFactory=
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Username=abc123
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Password=********
    PERSISTENCE_DB.DatabaseSchema=
    PERSISTENCE_DB.DatabaseTablespace=
    PERSISTENCE_DB.DatabaseType=ORACLE
    PERSISTENCE_DB.JDBCConnectString=jdbc:informatica:oracle://tsora10g2:1521;ServiceName=orcl
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Dialect=com.informatica.repository.persistence.database.OracleCustomDialect
    PERSISTENCE_DB.Driver=com.informatica.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver
    Command ran successfully
