FAQ: Is there a way to configure the connections that Model Repository establishes with its database?
The Model Repository Service connects to the database using JDBC drivers and the lower level interactions are abstracted using Hibernate that works over c3p0. This architecture is employed because it is quite expensive to establish connections to the database. Hence, the connections are pooled and the pool is managed by c3p0.

Now, c3p0 is quite flexible when it comes to configuring connections and it exposes a lot of properties that you can tweak to suit your needs.

Because the MRS relies on c3p0, you can use custom properties that MRS made available to configure the settings. Here is a list of custom properties you can configure:

You can set these properties in custom properties of Process tab of MRS.
