FAQ: Is ssasexp.dll required for Identity Resolution(IIR) MSSQL Server database?
Answer
No, Identity Resolution (IIR) talks to MSSQL using ODBC. It is nothing to do with this method which is for code written using the MSSQL API – which is deprecated by Microsoft and due to be removed in an upcoming MSSQL release.

So, that step can be skipped as the MSSQL-API is used now. It works with the ODBC.

More Information
The MS-SQL API is no longer supported as it works with ODBC.

It is about step4 mentioned in the IIR documentation.
