HOW TO: Add third party JAR files in the Java transformation
Solution

With Java Transformation, when you use third party JAR files, that file should be configured both in the Java transformation and in the corresponding Session.
The third party JAR files should be configured in the CLASSPATH of the session as well as the in the Java transformation within the Designer.

To configure the CLASSPATH, do the following:

  1. Edit the session in the Workflow Manager.

  2. Go to the Properties tab.

  3. Select Java Classpath.

  4. Add the required JAR files in the CLASSPATH.

More Information

When compiling the CLASSFILE in the Java Code tab in the Java transformation > Designer , it may compile fine. However, when executing a session that uses the java transformation, it may fail with the error, as it cannot find the CLASS file. Hence, you should set the CLASSPATH in the session.

Reference

For setting up the JAR files in Designer, see Developing Java Code under Java Transformation in the PowerCenter Transformation Guide
