HOW TO: Parameterize Lookup Table Name in a PowerCenter session
Solution

To parameterize the lookup tables, do the following:

  1. Edit the Session > go to Mapping Tabs.

  2. Open the Properties of the Lookup transformation.

  3. For the Lookup Table Name property, enter the parameter name (such as $ParamLkpTable).

  4. Define a parameter file as the following:

[Test_lookup_param.s_m_test]
$ParamLkpTable=nitin.DUMMY_TARGET
  1. Ensure that the path and filename of the parameter file in the Session Properties.

This feature is available in PowerCenter 8.5 and later versions.
