HOW TO: Connect to MongoDB using DDM
Solution
You can connect to MongoDB (using Progress driver) through Generic JDBC service of Dynamic Data Masking (DDM) as follows:
  1. Download the MongoDB driver from the progress site(https://www.progress.com/jdbc/mongodb)
  2. After a successful installation, you can find mongodb.jar in the following path:
    C:\Program Files\Progress\DataDirect\JDBC_60\lib
  3. Copy the jar and paste it under your <DDM installation directory>/lib/ext folder.
  4. Now add database node, connection rules and security rules in DDM.

JDBC client configuration(SQLWorkBench)

  1. Go to the SQLWorkBench installation directory and take the backup of SQLWorkbench.ini file.
  2. Open the SQLWorkbench.ini file in the editor and add the below line:
    vmarg.1= -javaagent:<path of the GenricJDBC.jar>=host:<DDM Host> ,port:< DDM port of JDBC Service>

    Example:
    vmarg.1= -javaagent:C:\Program Files\Informatica\DDM991Akamai\Wrappers\jdbc\GenericJDBC.jar=host:INW1PF10VLVG,port:7001
  3. Save the SQLWorkbench.ini file and launch the SQLWorkbench.
More Information
The following sanity test cases are performed on Mongo DB:
  1. Basic masking using select * and select column list queries.
    Examples:
    select * from DMO_PERFTEST;
    select NAME as na , STREET as Str from DMO_PERFTEST;
    select NAME, STREET from DMO_PERFTEST;
  2. Test the Block statement, Mask, and Rewrite Actions in SecurityRules.
  3. Validate Global Symbols and below symbols should only populated:
    AUTH_DATABASE_NAME, AUTH_DRIVER_CLASS, AUTH_DRIVER_NAME, AUTH_SID, CLIENT_IP
