HOW TO: Setup Disaster Recovery in the standalone Rulepoint while the Database is mirrored
Follow the steps to install and configure the Disaster Recovery (DR) setup for Rulepoint:
  1. Install the Rulepoint in the primary Server, say Svr1 connecting to the Primary Database, say DB1.
  2. Copy the complete binaries (installation directory) from Svr1 to a backup node, say DR_Svr.
  3. Update all the properties file listed below to change the jdbc url pointing to the mirrored database, say DR_DB2:
    • <RULEPOINT_HOME>/conf
    •   <RULEPOINT_HOME>/conf
    •  <RULEPOINT_HOME>/design/webapps/rulepoint/WEB-INF/classes/
    • <RULEPOINT_HOME>/design/webapps/rulepoint/WEB-INF/classes/
    • <RULEPOINT_HOME>/design/webapps/rulepoint/WEB-INF/classes/
    • <RULEPOINT_HOME>/design/webapps/RTAM/WEB-INF/classes/
    • <RULEPOINT_HOME>/design/webapps/RTAM/WEB-INF/classes/
  4. Once the primary server and database is down, start the mirrored database.
  5. Start only the Rulepoint Design Time service in the backup host by executing the <RULEPOINT_HOME>/bin/ start script.
Once the Rulepoint console is accessible, go to Administration > Topology, select the Topology and then edit.
Change the jdbcString under Properties to point to the mirrored database. Click on Hosts and change the Host IP Address pointing to the backup host as well.
