HOW TO: Enable/Disable JDBC Tracing on a Connection Database

To enable JDBC tracing on a connection database configured in Informatica Administrator so that it generates a spy log, do the following:

1. Login to Informatica Administrator with Administrator permissions.
2. Click on "Connections" button.
3. Locate the database connection in which you want to set JDBC tracing.
4. Edit the "Metadata Access Properties".
5. Add the following string at the end of the connection string as follows:

    SpyAttributes=(log=(file)\\your_server_path\\spy_NAME.log ;linelimit=220;logTName=yes;timestamp=yes);

To disable JDBC tracing that is not required anymore or as suggested by Informatica Global Customer Support, remove the string from the connection as follows:

   SpyAttributes=(log=(file)\\your_server_path\\spy_NAME.log ;linelimit=220;logTName=yes;timestamp=yes);

More Information

Enabling JDBC tracing does not require any reboot of Informatica service or any node shutdown.
