"Could not connect to ODBC. ODBC returns ...Remote Database Not Found: <Data-baseName>" when connecting to DB2 UDB source through ODBC drivers in Data Explorer
Problem Description

In Data Explorer on UNIX, when connecting to DB2 UDB source using Data Direct 5.3 ODBC drivers, the following error is displayed:

Could not connect to ODBC. ODBC returns
[Informatica][ODBC DB2 Wire Protocol driver]Remote Database Not Found: <DatabaseName>

Cause
This specific error message occurs when the Database parameter entry for DB2 in odbc.ini is incorrect, whereby it is configured to use DBALIAS name instead of the actual Database Name.
Solution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

  1. Update the entry related to connecting to DB2 in the odbc.ini file found under /opt/Informatica/DataExplorer860/server861/datadirect53
  2. Edit the parameter Database and provide the actual DatabaseName and not the DBALIAS

Example:

Following is a sample update for DB2 (Ensure to retain the commented value-pairs as is):
