Cause

This issue usually occurs when there is an error in the ODBC.INI (or ODBCINST.INI) file. Specifically the driver path specified for the data source (DSN) entry is incorrect.

Solution

To resolve this issue, correct the driver path in both the ODBC.INI and the ODBCINST.INI files. Ensure that it is defined correctly and that it is the fully qualified path.

  1. Enter the correct fully qualified driver path and correct driver name in the ODBC.INI.

    Example

    The default Driver entry for the SQL Server DataDirect ODBC 6.1 driver would be similar to the following:

    [SYR]
    Driver=
    /home/user/Informatica/9.1.0/ODBC6.1/bin/DWmsss25.so
    Description=DataDirect 6.0 SQL Server Wire Protocol
    Database=SYR
    LogonID=SQL_SERVER_USER
    Password=
    Address=xxx.yyy.zzz.www,1433
    QuotedId=No
    AnsiNPW=No

  2. Enter the correct fully qualified driver path and correct driver name in the ODBCinst.ini.

    Example

    [DataDirect 6.0 SQL Server Wire Protocol]
    Driver=/home/user/Informatica/9.1.0/ODBC6.1/bin/DWmsss25.so
    APILevel=2
    ConnectFunctions=YYY
    DriverODBCVer=3.52
    FileUsage=0
    Setup=/apps/infdbt1/Informatica/ODBC6.0/lib/DWmsss24.so
    SQLLevel=1

  3. Additionally, confirm that the ODBC library path in the library environment variable.
