"Error occurred loading library [libclntsh.so.10.1: cannot open object file: No such file or directory] Database driver event...Error occurred loading library [libpmora8.so]" after upgrading Oracle client from 10.2 to 11.2 in PowerCenter
Problem Description

In PowerCenter, after upgrading Oracle client from 10.2 to 11.2, following error occurs when connecting to the Repository:

Database driver event…Error occurred loading library [libclntsh.so.10.1: cannot open object file: No such file or directory] Database driver event...Error occurred loading library [libpmora8.so].

Cause
This issue occurs because the libpmora8.so library requires libclntsh.so.10.1 library from the Oracle client. However, Oracle 11g client contains only libclntsh.so.11.1.
Solution

To resolve this issue, create a soft link for this library, libclntsh.so.10.1 using the original library, libclntsh.so.11.1 in the ORACLE_HOME/lib directory.

To create the softlink, run the following command:

ln -s libclntsh.so.11.1 libclntsh.so.10.1

However, if somehow the softlink was already created, make sure that the LD_LIBRARY_PATH was correctly defined in the environment.
