ConnectionRetryCount and ConnectionRetryDelay parameters do not work for SQL Server ODBC connections
Problem Description
Workflow fails intermittently in production because of connection failure. The user is using ODBC connection for Target database and it fails while connecting to the database. On re-running the workflow, it is successful. To avoid manual intervention, the user uses ConnectionRetryCount and ConnectionRetryDelay parameters in the odbc.ini file, which is used to retry the connection on failure. 

 

Cause
Data Direct confirmed that it is a bug and will be providing a one-off fix for ODBC 7.0 and ODBC 7.1 versions. ​​A case was raised with DataDirect to confirm if it is a bug. (Case number: 00287682).
Solution
If there is an HA license for the user environment, Informatica provides retry count which tries to connect to the database on failure. This ODBC fix has been added to Informatica 9.6.1 Hotfix 3.
