ERROR: "REP_12164 : Domain-related error: [[PCSF_46008] Cannot connect to gateway to look up service [Node]. [FAULT_PCSFTIMEOUTEXCEPTION]]" while performing a deployment across repositories present in different domains
Problem Description

While performing a deployment across repositories present in different domains, the following error messages are displayed:

ERROR: REP_55112 : Unable to connect to the Repository Service [NP01_INF9_REPOS] since the resilience time is up.

REP_51046 : Internal error : Cannot send object of type RReplyMsg.

REP_12164 : Domain-related error: PCSF_46008] Cannot connect to gateway to look up service [Node]. [FAULT_PCSFTIMEOUTEXCEPTION.

REP_55115 : Still trying to connect to the Repository Service [Node]. The remaining resilience time is x seconds.

Cause

The issue occurs if the source repository service is unable to communicate with the target repository service, or the other way around.

Solution

Make sure that from the host machine where the source repository runs, one is able to connect to the target repository using pmrep connect. Similarly, connect to the source repository from the machine where the target repository is running using pmrep connect.

This ensures that the source and target repository services are able to communicate with each other, which is essential for deployment.

More Information

During code migration using folder copy or deployment groups, the source and target repository services directly communicate with each other, regardless of whether the action was initiated from the command line using pmrep or the client tool (Repository manager).

So, it is essential to make sure that the pmrep connect command in both directions is successful.
