ERROR: " Received fatal alert: handshake_failure" while accessing WebService Hub from external client
Problem Description
Accessing or calling Webservice hub from an external client like SOAPUI, Tibco client or java code, and more fails with the following error after upgrading PowerCenter to 10.1 or 9.6.1 HotFix 4: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure
This issue occurs as TLSv1.0 is disabled starting from informatica 9.6.1 HF4 or Informatica 10.1. It supports TLSv1.1 or TLSv1.2
To resolve this issue, ensure to have client enabled with TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2 protocol.

In SOAPUI, you can follow the steps to provide TLS version

Do the following to fix the issue:
  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\SmartBear\SoapUI-5.2.1\bin folder.
  2. Edit SoapUI-5.2.1.vmoptions file with any text editor.
  3. Add the following entry and save the file. It will only enable TLS 1.2 protocol.
If you have a requirement to enable other TLS version too, then use comma-separated values as shown below.
  4. Close and Re-launch the Soap UI.

Users need to work with Client vendor to get any help with enabling TLS 1.1 or 1.2.
