ERROR: "IDR-020219 E Could not convert character data from UTF16 to UTF8" while running the extractor in IDR
Problem Description
In Informatica Data Replication (IDR), the extractor fails with the following error:

2019-01-11 15:04:32.164 (00004DA0) IDR-020219 E Could not convert character data from UTF16 to UTF8. 
2019-01-11 15:04:32.242 (00004DA0) IDR-020182 E Fatal error: Could not convert character data from UTF16 to UTF8.. 
2019-01-11 15:04:32.274 (00004DA0) IDR-000483 I The process ends with the exit code -5

Cause
​This issue occurs when there are invalid characters while converting from UTF16 to UTF8.
Solution
​To resolve this issue, enable the following parameters:

global.fix_invalid_encoding_characters
global.invalid_character_replacement

​As per the Informatica Data Replication - Message Reference Guide:

IDR-020219 [ERROR] Could not convert character data from UTF16 to UTF8.

Set the global.fix_invalid_encoding_characters runtime parameter to 1. 

Also, specify a replacement character in the global.invalid_character_replacement runtime parameter.

Explanation: Extractor failed to convert character data from UTF16 to UTF8.
