Workaround

  1. Look for a standalone.jar for hive in your machine (Ex: find / -name *-standalone.jar). Select the one that is close to Hive version 1.1.1. For instance, in cdh513kerb01,you will get /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH-5.14.4-1.cdh5.14.4.p0.3/jars/hive-jdbc-1.1.0-cdh5.14.4-standalone.jar and in hdp26relate001 /usr/hdp/2.6.5.0-292/hive/jdbc/hive-jdbc-1.2.1000.2.6.5.0-292-standalone.jar
  2. Run the file run_hiveEnabler.sh in CDH when hive is SSL enabled:

    cp /opt/cloudera/parcels/CDH-5.14.4-1.cdh5.14.4.p0.3/jars/hive-jdbc-1.1.0-cdh5.14.4-standalone.jar /usr/local/mdmbdrm-10.0/bin/
    cd /usr/local/mdmbdrm-10.0/bin/
    rm -rf hive-jdbc.jar
    cp hive-jdbc-1.1.0-cdh5.14.4-standalone.jar hive-jdbc.jar
    chmod 777 hive-jdbc.jar

    Run the run_hiveEnabler.sh script using following hive config:

    <HiveConfiguration>
    <JDBCUrl>jdbc:hive2://<MACHINE_NAME>.informatica.com:10000/default;ssl=true;sslTrustStore=<TRUSTSTORE_PATH>;trustStorePassword=<PASSWORD></JDBCUrl>
    <KeyTabFile>YOUR_HIVE_KEYTAB_FILE</KeyTabFile>
    <PrincipalName>HIVE_PRINCIPLE</PrincipalName>
    </HiveConfiguration>

    Example

    <HiveConfiguration>
    <JDBCUrl>jdbc:hive2://cdh513kerb01.informatica.com:10000/default;ssl=true;sslTrustStore=/etc/cloudera-scm-agent/custom.truststore;trustStorePassword=hadoop</JDBCUrl>
    <KeyTabFile>/run/cloudera-scm-agent/process/232-hive-HIVESERVER2/hive.keytab</KeyTabFile>
    <PrincipalName>hive/cdh513kerb01.informatica.com@INFAKRB.INFADEV.COM</PrincipalName>
    </HiveConfiguration>
  3. For HDP, do as follows:

cp /usr/hdp/2.6.5.0-292/hive/jdbc/hive-jdbc-1.2.1000.2.6.5.0-292-standalone.jar /usr/local/mdmbdrm-10.0/bin/
cd /usr/local/mdmbdrm-10.0/bin/
rm -rf hive-jdbc.jar
cp hive-jdbc-1.2.1000.2.6.5.0-292-standalone.jar hive-jdbc.jar
chmod 777 hive-jdbc.jar

Run the run_hiveEnabler.sh script using the following hive config:

<HiveConfiguration>
<JDBCUrl>jdbc:hive2://<MACHINE_NAME>.informatica.com:10000/default;ssl=true;sslTrustStore=<TRUSTSTORE_PATH>;trustStorePassword=<PASSWORD></JDBCUrl>
<KeyTabFile>YOUR_HIVE_KEYTAB_FILE</KeyTabFile>
<PrincipalName>HIVE_PRINCIPLE</PrincipalName>
</HiveConfiguration>

Example

<HiveConfiguration>
<JDBCUrl>jdbc:hive2://<MACHINE_NAME>.informatica.com:10000/default;ssl=true;sslTrustStore=<TRUSTSTORE_PATH>;trustStorePassword=<PASSWORD></JDBCUrl>
<KeyTabFile>/etc/security/keytabs/hive.service.keytab</KeyTabFile>
<PrincipalName>hive/hdp26relate001.informatica.com@INFAKRB.INFADEV.COM</PrincipalName>
</HiveConfiguration>
