Error: "R_4036 Error connecting to database [Informatica][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver] Timeout expired" while running DSS task in Cloud Data Integration
Problem Description
In Cloud Data Integration (CDI), while testing a connection on Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) DI, the connection to SQL SERVER 2012 tests okay, but running DSS task it fails​ with the following error:

R_4036 Error connecting to database [ [Informatica][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver]Timeout expired

Furthermore, it is possible to browse the SQL SERVER Objects/tables in the DSS task for source using connection information. 
Cause
This is a third-party issue related to the DNS settings.
Solution
To resolve this issue, replace the hostname with the IP address in the SQL Server connection and the task connects/runs successfully. as per the screenshot below, underlined in red.:
