Issue while setting up DB2 for Windows, Linux and Unix connection on TDM
Problem Description
The following error is displayed when setting up the DB2 connections for the 1st time and Testing connections.

KB DB2 Connections.png
Cause
This issue occurs because the data direct drivers looks for the packages in the database. If the packages are not present then the drivers will create packages in the database and the user doesn't have these permissions to create the packages.
Solution
The Database Admin needs to provide the create and BIND permission to the respective users or else the DBA can do the test connections with there logins with the datadirect drivers. So that the packages are created and the rest of the users can connect to the packages with the BIND permissions assigned to them.

List of permissions required:
  1. BINDADD
  2. CREATEIN on the collection specified by the Package Collection option and in NULLID
  3. SYSADM or SYSCTRL
  4. SELECT access to following systems tables to use (e.g. mining the DB2 database) the DB2 driver on the mainframe.
    • SYSTABLES SYSCOLUMNS SYSPROCEDURES
    • SYSPARMS SYSCOLAUTH SYSTABAUTH
    • SYSKEYS SYSINDEXES SYSSYNONYMS
    • SYSROUTINES SYSFOREIGNKEYS SYSSCHEMAAUTH
  5. GRANT EXECUTE on the PUBLIC group for executing the packages
  6. CHANGE authority or higher on the collection where you want to create your package.
