ERROR: "Failed to load the PowerMart DLL PSQLODBC30M.DLL to support this database” while importing From PostgreSQL data source using PowerCenter Designer
Problem Description
While importing a table from a PostgreSQL data source using PowerCenter Designer, the following messages are displayed:

Failed to load the PowerMart DLL PSQLODBC30M.DLL to support this database

Cause
This error occurs when there is no entry for the third-party ODBC driver in the ODBCDLL section of the powermart.ini file under <INFA client installation>\clients\PowerCenterClient\client\bin\.

For PowerCenter to recognize this (third-party) ODBC, manually configure the [ODBDLL] section in the file.

Solution
To resolve this issue, do as follows:
  1. On the PowerCenter machine, navigate to <INFA client installation>\clients\PowerCenterClient\client\bin\
  2. Edit the powrmart.ini file.
  3. Add the following entry in the powrmart.ini file under the [ODBCDLL] section:
    PostgreSQL=pmodbcs.DLL
  4. Restart the Designer and import the table definition.
