Duplicate key violation when inserting into in aeprocesslogdata in ActiveVOS
Problem Description
In ActiveVOS, there is a duplicate key violation when inserting into in aeprocesslogdata.

There is an error message in your log file as follows:

Cannot insert duplicate key in object dbo.aeprocesslogdata

KB619384.PNG

Cause
This issue occurs when in one case where records are deleted from aeprocesslogdata by date only instead of by processid resulting in a corrupted ActivevOS engine.

When the ActivevOS engine attempts to insert a record into a table, and the unique key it is using is not unique, it means that the ActiveVOS engine is corrupt. The server is not consistent with itself. This should never happen and is a serious issue.

This is not the example where completed processes are selected by DATE and then deleted. The issue is when dated is deleted by date only.

Solution
To resolve this issue, do not delete from the aeprocesslog data table by date. Any deletions, if needed, should be done by processid.
