Problem Description
In-place upgrade or Informatica domain from 10.2.x to 10.4 fails with no error message in logs.

Following is the last lines in the upgrade log:

Database type: : oracle
Database user ID: : INFBDM_DOM
Database user password: : *****
JDBC connect string : jdbc:informatica:oracle://infadbhost:1521;ServiceName=ORCL;MaxPooledStatements=20;CatalogOptions=0;BatchPerformanceWorkaround=true

Modifying odbc.ini file

Modifying odbcinst.ini file

Upon running the upgrade again with environment variable LAX_DEBUG=true, found that it was due to heap size (Xmx) of node (in 10.2.x) set incorrectly.
It was set as 4g in script.

Update -Xmx value in the INFA_JAVA_OPTS environment variable in script (of 10.2.x) from 4g to 4096m and rerun the upgrade.

For example, change it from,

INFA_JAVA_OPTS="-Xmx4g ${INFA_JAVA_OPTS} -XX:MaxMetaspaceSize=256m"

INFA_JAVA_OPTS="-Xmx4096m ${INFA_JAVA_OPTS} -XX:MaxMetaspaceSize=256m"
