The requirement is to build Grid of two nodes and use SFTP connections for PowerCenter
Problem Description
The user is trying to avoid cross accessing SAS servers from non-related Informatica servers.
Wants to build a Grid of two nodes and use SFTP connections for PowerCenter.
For Developer (since there is no SFTP), they are thinking of installing two IS in Developer - one for each node.
Thus, Developer tasks won't be running on the grid but rather on assigned IS.

Questions here is, whether this infrastructure is advisable?
Is there a checklist for converting to a grid?
The user has to do it in production without testing the approach first and is afraid of jeopardizing production processes.

Solution
Steps to follow to achieve the above:

  • Set IgnoreResourceRequirement to no in admin console under IS Advance properties.

  • Edit the session, and assign the node on which the session needs to run, even the IS is run on the gird.

  • Edit the session under work-let and assign the node on which the session needs to run.
