Unable to link ports from different XML Views or multiple groups to a Joiner transformation in a PowerCenter Mapping
Problem Description

When attempting to connect ports from different XML views or elements in the same XML Source Qualifier transformation to a Joiner transformation in a PowerCenter Mapping, the following error occurs in the status bar:

Concatenation disallowed on transformation JNRTRANS. Active transformations (XMLDSQ.X_View1, XMLDSQ.X_View2)

You must configure the Joiner transformation with the Sorted Input option in order to link two views from one XML Source Qualifier transformation to the Joiner transformation.

To resolve this do the following:

  1. Open the Joiner transformation.

  2. Click the Properties tab.

  3. Select the Sorted Input option.

  4. Click OK .

More Information
If the condition columns are not sorted, add two Sorter transformations to the mapping before the Joiner transformation.
Link one Sorter to the master XML group and one to the detail XML group.
If the Joiner transformation condition columns are already sorted (for example, PowerCenter generated XPK column) you do not need to add a Sorter transformation before the Joiner transformation.
