HOW TO: Determine the number of master rows for a Joiner transformation
Problem Description
In order to determine the cache requirement for a joiner, it is useful to know the number of rows for the Master table that are going to be processed.
Cause
Solution

To determine the number of master rows for a Joiner transformation do the following:

  1. Edit the session.
  2. Select the Properties tab > Performance > Collect Performance Data.
  3. Save the session and run it.

This will generate a file called .perf which displays all transformations with the number of rows processed.
For the joiner, the master information is listed first, then the detail.
