FAQ: What is the setting to change the location of core files generated by PowerCenter processes?
Problem Description

The Core files generated by PowerCenter processes are created in a different directory (such as /var/core on Solaris) other than PowerCenter directory. The PowerCenter users do not have permissions for those directories to generate stack trace.

Is there a setting with PowerCenter to change the location of the core files?

Cause
Solution
The core files are generated by the Operating system and the default location for core file creation is the directory from which the executable (pmserver, pmdtm, and pmrepagent)is called. There is no setting within PowerCenter to control the creation of core file.
However, there is an AIX specific command for administration of core files
