Configuring Custom Log Directory for Ambari in EDC
Content
In Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), the Ambari log files are stored in the /var/log directory by default. You can configure a custom directory for the Ambari log files.

To specify a custom directory to store the Ambari log files, perform the following steps:
  1. Log in to Informatica Administrator.

  2. Click the Informatica Cluster Service that you configured and click Edit.

  3. Add the IcsCustomOptions.ihs.hadoop.log.dir custom property for the Informatica Cluster Service and specify the custom directory in the Value text box for the property. Ensure that you have a minimum of 50 GB free disk space in the directory.

  4. Click Finish.

  5. Enable Informatica Cluster Service.

Note

After you enable the service, you must not change the custom log directory.

More Information
Though the custom property IcsCustomOptions.ihs.hadoop.log.dir is set for Embedded Cluster Service to customize Hadoop log directories, Ambari-server and Amabri-agent log directories still get created in the default location.

To change the log location of ambari-server and agent, refer to: How to customize Ambari server/agent Log Directories of Embedded cluster?
